Practical Driving Test - Audio Guide enables you to follow similar instructions you'd receive from a practical driving test tester during an actual test. As an experienced driver you may wish to see how you would perform on the practical driving test. For a learner driver, remember you must not use a mobile phone whilst driving. An experienced driver could listen using headphones and pass on the instructions for you to follow. At all times remember it is vital you and others are safe.

Important

In a practical driving test the tester will ask you to perform a task such as parking, reverse parallel parking or reversing. I've modified the instructions so these are optional to enable the instruction sequence to continue working. You can perform these actions at the time announced or at a more suitable time.

Location in Google Maps

Under the instructions is a link to show the current instruction's location. At the start it can be good to use this link to go to Google Maps and find directions to the start of the practical driving test. During the practical driving test it is possible to miss a turn, or in the case where you need to perform a task such as a reverse parallel park, you may drive too far and go past the next instruction and thus the instructions will no longer work. Using the link for the instruction location may help get back to the location so you can continue, otherwise you'll need to start the route again.

Keep in mind when this page goes into the background the audio guide is suspended. Once finished with Google Maps, close Google Maps and bring this page to the foreground and the audio guide will continue where you left off. If you reload or refresh this page, you'll lose where you're up to.

Alert Distance

As you approach the GPS location for an instruction (within 50 metres), the instruction will be read aloud. Testers will often give you an instruction with less notice as they can take into account your exact location and situation. The technology in mobile phones isn't as precise so instructions may have been adjusted to enable sufficient time to perform the instruction.

NOTES

• The practical driving test for Geelong on the 23/06/21 was uploaded to YouTube by the creator in two separate videos. For the audio guide I've combined the instructions to enable people to complete the full practical driving test.
• It is possible for the audio guide to fail if for example the GPS location isn't provided in time. If this happens to you there's nothing you can do except to start the practical driving test again.
